Tips for the Bride and Groom #3

Love must be sincere, Hate what is evil, cling to what is good

Romans 12:9

I'll actually be including 2 tips in this one. I feel like they go hand in hand.

There's some things brides never ever think about. But the photographer does! And my job is to document the wedding as it happens. And so all of these things are just "real life". But thinking of the little things does make a difference.dd

1. Have a pretty hanger for your wedding dress

One of my favorite parts of a wedding is finding creative ways of taking all the little details. One big detail is the wedding dress. Now you go there, you have a beautiful venue, you have a beautiful dress, the perfect place to hang it for that perfect picture. But its on a plastic hanger (GASP).

And sometimes i have extra hangers with me, but not always. You can get cheap wooden ones from walmart that do the trick (depending on what style dress you have). But i promise you that makes a world of difference.

2. Try to keep water bottles with company logos out of the dressing room

This is something you don't think about until you see your photos later. Like i said, my job is to document real life happenings. And who wouldn't get thirsty after hours and hours of hair and makeup. But i strongly recommend using plastic cups to pour  your drinks in ,or wine glasses are even better. Because i promise you later when you see these beautiful getting ready photos, with DASANI in the background. you start to wonder if this was an advertisement for them. It's human nature, its what your eye will be drawn to.

3. Try to have all 3 rings at one spot (preferably with the Bride)

When the photographer arrives they will usually try to do the detail shots first. That way those can be done before they are in use. The dress before its put on, the rings, the earrings, garters, necklaces, bouquets, wedding invitation, shoes . Same goes for the guys, shoes, ties, handkerchief, watches. We can walk from the grooms location, to the brides location and do all their different stuff. One thing they don't think about though is making sure all the rings are in one location so we can do those ring shots beforehand. Sometimes we  waste a lot of time going from one place to the other figuring out where all the rings are located. As soon as we are done with the ringshots we will go ask to who we should carry them. That way the right person will have them during the ceremony. But we were able to squeeze those ring shots in without too much hassle.

These are just some things to think about!
